Why please?

nitro, thanks sweetie, I have been riding for about 20 yrs. now. always on the back because I'm an old-fashioned girl. Was born to ride, never taken the course but always one with the bike & how it moves, not to mention the man in front of me! Always complimented on how I ride & think the key difference is those that aren't comfortable are the ones that tend to fidget, move around ¬ respect the road & rider.

I bought my bike with the idea that it would give something for my wife and I to do together, but she is apprehensive about riding. So most of my rides are by myself. I enjoy the time alone with my thoughts. But I have also been on group rides for charity and have enjoyed them also. I ride a cruiser.

In general, I prefer to ride solo (alone). I have several reasons for this: 1) riding a motorcycle is, to me, exercising a high degree of freedom, and being alone enhances that feeling; 2) an inexperienced and/or apprehensive passenger can move the wrong way at the most inopportune moments, causing control problems and potentially endangering both rider and passenger. That being said, I do occasionally ride two-up, but not too often. If my girlfriend (whoops, ex-girlfriend) would have been a bit more interested, it could have been fun, but I rarely got her on the bike, and never for long rides (I have a Harley Electra-Glide, and it is a great machine for 400-700 mile day trips).

That's kind of a tough Question, I ride a Titan chopper. I don't mind riding double, if the person/wife /gfs on the back can ride as part of the bike. As to say when turning Conner's the passenger tends to lean the wrong way, thinking the bike is tipping over. Your brain is telling you the wrong thing. Because you are not in control of the bike.So if you ride as if you are part of the bike, you will have a great ride. If you have noticed like Honda gold wings have a seat on the back with arm rest and all. You can't lean on that kind of bike, there made for cruising long distances. In short, most bikers do not want to deal with someone flopping all over behind us.So the next time you ride with someone, snuggle up real close, and be part of the bike, and you can come ride with me anytime.I hope I have answered your Question.

* I think that is more the ladies choice and prefrence then the man's. My wife has her own bike but we still double up sometime, but not since last June. I had my first wreck ever in 37 years and i am a littly scared for her to ride with me now. If she had been with me, I shudder to thinhk what would have happenned to her. It broke my face all up and caved the side of my face in, but i am okay but I would not have wanted to have had her with me that day.

I ride with my wife either one bike or two, but we are not club type riders, we ride alone. I have owned Yamaha's mostly one Suzuki and one Honda and I don't really have anything against any bike, but since my wreck I decided that if i am going to die on a bike it will be a Harley. I was holding off until I could get something larger than a sportster, but hey I now have an 883 as seen in my avatar and That is just fine. It is smaller than my 1100 Yamaha Silverado but it is a nice ride. *

I prefer to ride solo. My wife likes to ride with me, and I like having her along. She rides well, but the handling is very different. The current ride is a FXD35 Superglide. I don't know if you would call it a cruiser or not, but it is a Harley. All the others would fall in a class that used to be called "street bikes". Old fashioned sit-up-and-ride bikes. No zoomsplats or cars on 2 wheels.

I ride a Harley FXD Super Glide and prefer to ride alone. My wife stopped riding with me after we started having kids. I have found that riding alone lets you be one with the bike. When you have a passenger you have to be thinking about whether they will lean wrong or do something to cause a problem. You can't relax and just enjoy the ride, and isn't that why we ride cruisers in the first place?

I usually ride solo. Brilliantly simple question! Also, a very broad question as well considering the recent shift of more women riding on their own. Most start out as pillions and do purchase a bike of their own to ride. On my cruiser my wife will participate in short rides around town. Usually something less than 50 miles, but alas I'm just starting to get into a groove by then.

I don't have an HD or a cruiser, not my style. But I do most riding alone. I like to ride as much as I can, so commuting to work is solo of course. My wife doesn't really like longer rides, so I'll plan my longer trips solo, but she rides like for a short evening ride, an hour or so in the country or maybe to an event in town. Vacation trips I'll do occasionally but again it'll be solo, it costs too much with her along as we'd have to stay at a motel, I'll take a tent along and camp and save alot of money. Plus she wouldn't want to put up with the weather if it rains or gets cold, etc. I assume this answers your question OK. I also try to NOT ride in big crowds of bikes, I like to go where I want to go, etc not be "tied" to a big group of bikes, that's boring. Maybe 2 or 3 other guys who I know won't mind an "off-schedule" detour down an interesting-looking road or stop somewhere, or hell even just decide to RIDE 2+ hours straight!

I ride a sport bike but i like to ride alone. Riding is not the safest thing someone can do. When you put a second persons life in jeopardy it takes alot of the fun out of it. You cant control what people in cars do. They have tendencies to pull out in front of you or drive into your lane when passing. It makes emergency driving so much harder with a passenger. The extra weight and a girl who wants to move around 3 seconds sucks too.
