Believe it or not, NYC is a GREAT place for kids, and you can do it on the cheap! There's a book called "New York's 50 Best Places to Take Children" that is fantastic!
Endless activities, plus lots of walking to get energy out :), but subways/taxis/buses when everyone gets tired!
I took my children there when they were 3 & 5 for 4 days, they still talk about that vacation (they're now nearly 7 & 9). There's FAO Schwartz, Museums, Central Park, etc. etc. We also took a helicopter ride that was *absolutely* the highlight of the trip for the children... :)
Have fun wherever you go!

There is a lot to see in Disney world, besides Disney. You can rent a house with a pool included for about 1000.00 dollars a week. You can relax in the pool, and cook there if you want. We did this with some mentally challenged(5) adults, and it was great. Get some other information on other things tro do.. we went to sea world, the ocean, a holy thing, a theater production, shoppng, near by tows.. we rernted a car also. I have no regets

Services provided in escorted tours have improved now. Nowadays you have several types of escorted tours to choose from, all designed for different age groups, interests, and activity levels. When you look at the price of an escorted tour it appears a wee bit expensive. But we must keep in mind that while most vacations packages include only hotel and airfare, an escorted tour usually includes much more. When pricing the escorted tour, make certain airfare from your hometown is included. Other valuable components usually included in a food and wine tour are motor coach transportation, daily breakfast, several dinners, sightseeing tours/cruises, tickets to area attractions, wine tasting, the services of a professional tour director, baggage handling, and all tips and service charges. Overall the escorted tours are more economical and provide more specialized and better planned tours and you feel more secure with them as well. Travel agents can help you create perfect holiday package tours. Simply Travel - Specialist Holidays

What about San Diego? The Zoo, Sea World, Wild Animal Park?
If you are on the East Coast, what about Washington DC, with a trip to Wiliamsburg? or Philadelphia?

If you go to Virginia there is alot of fun things to do. There is colonial williams Burge where people walk around in costumes and you can actually eat where george washington stayed the night. Also there is bush Gardens the amusment park wich has lots of rides for their ages and some roller coasters. They also have a lot of shows their like irish step dancing and other things. Its kind of like disney but smaller. It's really nice for kids. Also if you go in June or July you can see the chincoteague ponys. They swim across the ocean and than they round them up and sell them, ect. It's really nice for girls who like horsies. lol. And there is also Jamestown. (you would want to go to the rebuilt one. ) which is like a replica of the old jamestown. (educational) You can see george washingtons house (mount vernon) And something they will really really love is Virginia beach. Lots of beach and there are hotels that line the shore that you can just walk out and go on the beach. There are stores all around town and restaraunts. some really good seafood restaraunts too. You can get buggie boards adn go boogie boarding. it's fun. Lots of shells there too. The only thing is that there is a car ride there. Depends on where you live. You would need to get a t.v on your car or if you don't have one i beleive you can actually hook up one in your car. books. Crossword puzzles. ect. I actually foudn out how to hook up my playstation. :) it was actually fun driving. And to keep them occupied on the ride there also there are sightseeing things to stop at. Another nice place to go is to get like a cabin up in the mountains for a few days. They actually have little cabins at the hotels, with creeks behind them and lots of shops, fun things to do ect. And you can also go to Wahsington D.c from Virginia. Which would be really cool to show them the museum of natural history for a while (educational.) They have cat mummies. lol all that would be reall cool for the 8 year old. And for the 5 year olds they have movie nights in beetween the jefferson and......the washington memorials. They also have Water country U.S.a in virginia. A water park wich would also be fun. Its a great place to go.

you should take a cruise because when you go on cruises they have different types of things for each child. you just have to find a good cruise line that has a list of types of activities for all children.
