Don't you love the sheer frivolity of this programme! How awful did Betty look after the makeover? And what's going on with Wilhelmina-I thought she was black, but I noticed her eyes are blue. Is she just horribly over-tanned?
Not since Ally McBeal have I enjoyed an American comedy so much (although nothing beats dancing to Barry White in the communal toilets, obviously)
Please tell me if you like this show, or if not, which other comedies tickle your funny bone, and why? Or tell me which comedies you hate. But please don't be too nasty. :)

Just to add, I didn't even realise that it was Vanessa Williams who plays Wilhelmina, and of course she is definitely black. I hope I didn't offend anybody there. That shows what a good actress she is!

oh my god! i love it! it is so hilarious! i think its great the way that it shows some people are only interested in what people look like. and betty did look really funny after the makeover - worse than before in my opinion! other comedies i love are vicar of dibley, friends, will and grace, the green green grass, only fools and horses, my family and anything else that is remotely funny! what do you like?

I love Ugly Betty lol although I go out with my mates every Friday (today being an exception as I am ill) and therefore kept missing it on TV. Instead, I have *looks guilty* watched the entire series online - as it has finished now in the states. It is fantastic and the twists are great to keep the show moving forward...
I never watched Ally McBeal. I enjoyed Friends but my favourite comedy (although towards the end it was much more than that) has to be SATC - - - which was absolutely amazing lol!

Yes I love the show. The actress that plays Wilhemena is Vanessa Williams, former Miss America. She has blond hair, green eyes and she IS black.. Always has been, always will be.. There are black people with blue, green and grey eyes, such as myself (green). I am surprised you never saw one before.
Anyway, Ugly Betty is the best in years here in the USA. We have been lacking since Friends and Seinfeld have went off the air. I can't wait to see what happens with the masked woman -- she was just revealed and it looks really good!!!!!

I love Ugly Betty. Its a great light hearted comedy. Makes a change for something good to be on. Its about the only TV programme i watch apart from BB.

Ugly Betty is refreshing you gotta admit... a little different than the shows out there ( although Grey's Anatomy is just awesome!)
Whilemina is played by Vanessa Williams, pretty famous actress and singer who was the first black crowned Miss USA ( she had to give it up because some racy pictures of her showed up in public).... She has green eyes because she's of mixed background.

I can't make my mind up whether I love Ugly Betty or hate it. However, I just can't stop watching it. My all time favourite sitcoms have to be Friends, Vicar of Dibley and Ally McBeal

I love Ugly Betty. I also like My Name is Earl which I have to record on my DVR because they come on at the same time. I loved Friends and this show fills that void a little. :)

i dont know why i like it so much but i do i always watch ugly betty and then grey's anatomy. i hardley ever watch tv but those are the ones i like to watch if i am home on Thursdays!!

I love it it is one of my favorite shows . I love americus ferrera. I like her when she played in The sisterhood of the traveling pants i thought she was excellent . I love all the charecters really . I think she and daniel will become friends for life . she takes care of daniel and I hope that someday he will see that . I think that he really kind of watches out for her too. well good luck .

I love "Ugly Betty"!!! I am just so sad that tonight there is no new episode. Why give us one new one (and have that great ending) and then go off air again?!
