I was sitting this morning and eating my daily grapefruit when a seed flew into my eye. I think it cut my eye open and some of the grapefruit juice got in. My eyeball is bleeding and swollen to at least twice as big. I can't see anything out of it either. I was going to go to the doctor but thought I would ask here first to see if was serious enough. I am a door-to-door scrapbook salesman and can't afford a doctor! I think I might ride this one out.

Thanks for helping me out! I really appreciate it!

What a bunch of pansie-wansie little people. You don't need a stinking doctor! I once had an entire grapefruit in my eye and nothing happened. When I was growing up we used to squirt grapefruit juice in our eyes for fun. My brother gouged his eye open with a grapefruit spoon. It bled and we laughed, it soon got better. He flushed his eye with tomato juice. That is what I'd recommend!

That sounds serious and should be checked out soon. Yes the juice can cause severe irritation but it sounds like you have more than just irritation. See a doctor fast, I'm sure they will work out billing options with you.

Get you butt to the ER!!!!!!!

By law they can't refuse you treatment by ability to pay. If they do bill you you pay whatever you can even if it's only a dollar or two a month...they get over it. But you will lose more than your eye if you wait! this in a medical emergency.
