I have yet to check out the Fremont Street Experience since it's been built. I really don't get out much...

It depends on what you're looking for. If you like the glitz and glam with great shows - stay on the strip. If you like outdoor street parties, downtown is the place for you. If you're there to gamble, I do better downtown. and you can gamble for less - lower limit blackjack tables and also penny and nickel slot machines. Have fun!

It all depends on what you are going to Vegas for. Downtown is not as busy, but still plenty of people. The Fremont Street Experience is worth seeing at least once. Generally, it's a little cheaper downtown too. The strip will be busier and have more to see. You can take a taxi from downtown to the strip for about $15-$20 each way.

I prefer Fremont Street over the strip. I love convenience. There is a bit of everything down on Fremont Street. Vendors, live music, and you can jump from one casino to another without walking 1 mile that looks only a couple feet away. I think there is more action downtown. Oh well whatever you decide I'm sure you'll have a blast.

If you have money to burn, you can spend time on the Strip. That's where the best shows, restaurants, and sightseeing are. But it's gotten VERY expensive. Downtown is easier to get around, the slots are looser (try the little Bayou & Mermaids casinos for good payouts) and it's got a fun, party atmosphere. And the food, rooms, and shows are cheaper, too. The Experience music/lightshow, by the way, is different every hour. Check out Main St. Station's buffet: it's great and low-priced. I also recommend the Golden Gate's Diner for good comfort food. The Golden Nugget has gone very upscale, though, if you like a ritzy atmosphere.

They both have their high an dlow points. The strip is wild and spread out. Downtown is all packed in together. Alot of stuff very close. The slots are a little looser downtown and tighter on the strip. They only serve Coke products Downtown and only Pepsi products on the strip. Check them both out. I like to spend time at each of them while I am there!

Man..you aren't missing much. It's all good when you are out having fun though and I always loved the people and the action when the weather is nice...which is most of the time out there. Have fun but I found out that I am not the young buck I used to be.. the crowd on the strip is faster these days then just a few years ago but with that said I loved it out there. Party on!!!

Downtown is better than the Strip.

I like downtown much better. You can hop from one casino to another real easy. There are vendors and bands playing on the street.

Also the casinos have some lower wager ($5 or $2) blackjack tables for the low-end (cheap) gamblers like me.
