If you have submitted an answer but go back to edit it, it stays in the same spot that it first appeared and doesn't go to the "back of the line" so to speak.

it's actually a pretty sneaky way to get your answer at the top of the list. you can go on quickly, answer with something illegible, then go back and edit your answer to make it look good. that way you don't look like you are copying off somebody. i hate to admit that i do it sometimes. didn't do it here, so i'm probably saying things that have already been said.
