The Alpaca (Vicugna pacos) is a domesticated breed of South American camel-like ungulates, derived from the wild vicuña. It resembles a sheep in appearance, but is larger and has a long erect neck.

I think they are one of the funniest creatures on the planet. Just show me a picture of one and I crack up laughing. No, seriously. They have really soft fur, too. My daughter has an alpaca fur teddy bear and it is sooooooo soft. (Disclaimer: No alpacas were hurt in the production of this item.)

Ummmm . . . I don't know. I guess so because I've never been attacked by one. Of course, I don't think I like them enough to start an alpaca farm like they advertise on TV.
