Yahoo chess is a great program! However, the response (after move is made to reflect on the other screen) gets slower and slower, as the game progresses? I have found that to close and reissue a challenge and accepted, the recreated board with game in progress, records that delayed move! It would be nice if the game would respond in a more timely manner! Any ideas as how to speed up the response time?

yes make the following changes.
Yahoo games and sun java have conflicts. Rather then trying to work around them. Here is the easy and fastest way to cure them. These simple setting changes will fix 95% of all Yahoo messenger and yahoo game problems.
go to Tools, open Internet options, advance tab. Scroll down the list and see if you have Microsoft Virtual Machine listed, if so unclick the 2 java’s listed. Make sure JIT is checked, click apply then ok. Close. This lets msn virtual machine launch yahoo messenger and games. If MSN VM is not listed you can download it here. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserversystem/virtualserver/default.mspx
This only takes 2 minutes and is very easy to do..

Increasing your virtual memory helps with the freezing/getting booted problem. You can increase your memory by going to start button, settings, control panel, system, advance tab, performance, advance tab, virtual memory, change it, make it 600 kb or higher, click set then ok .If it’s not listed as Kb,” Some are not.” Just double the number listed. (Needed for games like Chess or any long games)

go to start,, ,run, type in msconfig. when the window pops up,click start up,. if you are using XP you can uncheck all except leave antivirus running. this will add more speed to your PC. any program unchecked will start up when needed so that will be no problem.click apply then ok. . that is how i have had mine set for months now. and everything works great.

It has to do probably with your internet bandwith. Try nothavong so many browser windows open at once. The same challenge I faced when I watch videos on yotube and a DVD movie on my computer at the same time.
