When I go into web outlook from home (web outlook is work) and attempt to open attachments from my home pc I am not able to do so; I use to be able to open attachments from work but for some reason I no longer can; I did updates, downloaded active sheild virus protection and remove yahoo toolbar in the control panel change/remove ; these are the only things that I have done and I am not sure if any of these would cause this; how can I figure out what is going on??

I have actually seen this before. The Yahoo toolbar has some sort of widget that causes issue with Outlook. After uninstalling certain Yahoo versions of the toolbar we had to recreat the Outlook profile for everything to function again.
Create a new profile via Control Panel > Mail

Hey, did you check the size of the attachment? .. sometimes i have found that outlook2003 copies a gif image of a document into the message instead of the actual attachment ... if the message size seems ok and yet doesn't open then there shud be something wrong with the installation ... please let me know what the exact error message is ... as a last resort you may have to reinstall from scratch if the application is corrupt ..
