Abortion IS legal already... Now do some people think it is right? No... but that is their own opinion.

Yes it should. There are a few different beliefs as to when a clump of cell becomes a human, i tend to accept the doctors recommendation of after 12 weeks. Prior to that its just a few cells with the possibility to be a human. I have had 2 pregnancy terminations and i dont regret them. If i had kept either then i woudnt be where i am now and i wouldnt have the children i have now. I believe in a womans right to choose because not everyone could go thru a pregnancy and give up a baby and work out just fine, mentally. I know i wouldnt have and at the age i had my first (15) i dont think my body would have coped very well either. You really cant take away a womans RIGHT TO CHOOSE whether or not she has a baby. I have 2 children now (3yrs and 10 months) and if i fell pregnant now i would abort. My first child i was on the pill and the condom broke once. Second child i had clamped fallopian tubes and was on the pill. If i fell pregnant now it would be a bloody miracle but i would still terminate because i wouldnt compromise what my 2 boys have now and i am not sure it would be financially viable to have another child as i work part time to help support the household. These are just some of the arguments to support what would be my desicion and i am sure every other woman would have a different argument.

Yes.
Why? Well, though I don't necessarily condone going out and having an abortion, keeping it legal will keep it regulated by the government. If it is made illegal, it will not stop people from getting them (drugs is an example of this), but it will put the women (or girls) seeking them in further danger. The argument of the pro life aspect is that abortion kills, well, making it illegal will cause the death of not only the fetus, but the mother as well. I think it will double the deaths attributed to abortion, not reduce them.
I think the way to stop abortion is to educate the kids on everything associated with sex, and what can/will happen, including showing them all of the gruesome aspects of abortions. I think seeing some of that will change the minds of a few kids, and possibly make them wise up and wait until they are much older to have sex. But the people that oppose abortion tend to also oppose sex education in the schools. which really baffles me. It is obvious the parents aren't stepping up and educating their kids right (It's a hard subject to discuss - I don't necessarily fault them), so let the schools assist, and let them do it right.

Abortion IS legal, and unfortunately, anyone and everyone who wants one can have one, which is really sad for the people who use it as a form of birth control.
I think that if you're raped or have a medical problem that has too many risks to continue a pregnancy, that should be okay, but abortion, in my opinion, for the sake of birth control, is sacrificing a young life because you can't be responsible.
So, no, I don't feel that elective abortions should be legal, both for moral and for health reasons (do you know that there are women out there who are unable to bear children because they've had, like, TWENTY abortions? THAT'S the kind of behavior I disagree with).

Abortion is legal and should stay legal. Because if it was illegal we'd have back alley abortions again and then what?! Facts are simple a fetus is not even considered viable and could not live outside the human body until 24 weeks gestation. A mother shouldnt have to carry around a child she doesnt want, knows will be born with profound disabilities {oh but thats right ppl are so against abortions but no one cares if these disabled persons are thrown into nursing homes!}. Dont use the excuse "theres always adoption" tell that to the THOUSANDS of kids out there waiting to be adopted. This is my opinion and I am a mother of 2. Both my children were wanted and Ive never had to make this choice so I have no right to judge anyone for their choices neither do you.
Queen where the hell do you live. MURDER IS ILLEGAL! As for claiming abortion is murder.. Abortion isnt murder you can not murder something that can not survive outside of your body on its own. A mass of cells is even though it has a heartbeat is not viable
Let me give you this example of a lady I knew. When she was pregnant with her first child it was discovered the child had a birth defect early enough in the pregnancy that she could terminate. She wanted to but her church and so forth kept telling her it was murder so she did not.The child was born with sever hydrophelus {water on the brain} his head the size of a soccer ball which soon ballooned up to the size of a basketball even with a shunt placed. When she was finally allowed to take him home she had no connection with this child she lay him in his crib hooked to a feeding pump and would leave him home alone for hours. So tell me what would have been best, her aborting as she wanted, or keeping the child as the church felt she should. And what about all the mothers out there that are pregnant and want to end the pregnancy if they couldnt chances are great that they'd not take care of themselves while pregnant in hopes of losing the child and if the child was born there would be so much resentment towards the child, the child wouldnt deserve that so all you right winged liberals shut the hell up abortion should be legal but NOT used as birth control. Educate your children and this wouldnt be such an issue

Yes. While I certainly don't think it should be used as a birth control measure and I would personally find it difficult to do - it should be up to an individual what she feels is right for her and her situation. Making it illegal would not stop abortions. It would simply make women go back to the old way when they were performed by untrained people in unsanitary conditions - resulting in death or sterility in many cases. I personally know several women who opted for an abortion. NONE of them took it lightly and it was an agonizing decision - but one they felt was best under the circumstances. The government has no business telling women what to do with their bodies. The decision to have an abortion is between them and their God.

I don't believe in abortion but I do believe that everyone has a right to make their own decisions. Abortion is killing an Innocent baby. The only reason I think people should get an abortion is if the baby won't make it the mothers life is in danger or both.
And by the way my mother was raped and my brother is a result of it, I don't know what I would do if he wasn't here. My mom loves him with all her heart and doesn't regret having him. and never did.

i feel the only reason abortion should be legal is if a person (god forbid) is raped forced to have sex unwillingly and becomes pregnant. If you have sex willingly and you don't use protection or use protection but not the correct kind then you should have thought about that before hand. If you are gonna have the fun you need to responsible and raise the child or put the child up for adoption, do not abuse the poor child. Abortion is killing an innocent unborn baby!

i believe it should be legal bcz some woman may not want 2 have a baby bcz their not ready 2 be a mother. Or in some cases woman who are raped may get pregnant so the woman doesnt want 2 have a baby that some man forced her 2 have! i blieve that woman have the right 2 their opinions an if they feel that they absolutely need 2 get an abortion then they should but if they do it only 4 fun or watever sick interest they have then i blieve it should be illegal. but thats my opinion. hope that helps. an some woman just cant handle having a baby. i mean i nvr want 2 get pregnant bcz of my opinion. but thats bside the point. some woman cannot handle the pain of having a baby. i mean think bout it its like having a watermeleon come through a lemon! i mean its painful an ive seen 2 many people suffer ten just give up the baby or have it taken away. so i believe even thgouh its already legal that having an abortion should b legal! i mean its the womans body so let her do with it wat she wants u cant just force her 2 do somethin she doesnt want 2 do, unless its hurting her then do soemthing!! but if she wants 2 have an abortion 4 her own reasons then let her! its her dadgum body!

it already is legal, and should remain so. If for some reason it becomes illegal once again what do you think will happen, all abortions will magically stop and all children will be raised by loving parents? No, wrong answer...abortions will continue, in back alley abortion clinics and at home in bathrooms with coat hangers, resulting not only in the death of a fetus, but likely in the death of the mother as well. I have had people respond to that with this statement,
"well, if you were going to kill your child, then you deserve to die."
Sounds really pro life doesn't it? More like pro life to their standards...pretty pathetic.
EDIT: I agree whole heartedly with Kahuna Burger, that is my usual response...this time I went a different route.
EDIT: as for my mom not getting an abortion with me, yeah, I am nothing but outraged that my mother was not given the choice to legally abort me if she decided that was the best route to take. My mother is an intelligent human being who can make up her own mind without a bunch of fascists telling her what she can and cannot do.
