Ourselves cannot fully exist without the others. We live for both of them. Life is not a one-way road; do not confuse life with Time. Time cannot change; it will keep going forward and you cannot stop it or slow it down or reverse it. Life, however, is not a road as much as it is a super-highway, filled with loops and cross-overs, intersecting with other highways of the same nature. We live on our highways first, simply because we tend to know the way it can go and how to get from one point to another. It is when we interact with the other highways that we get lost and confused. Yet, the other drivers know the other highways, so we must rely on them to guide us, just as they do us when they visit ours. We should live for ourselves, as the extremist will tell you that if we live for others, we forget who we are. We should live for others, as the extremist will tell you that if we live for ourselves, we lose touch with humanity. Life is an intergalactic highway; some people need construction, while others have their highways lined up neatly from north to south and east to west. Some highways are long, downward spirals; we avoid these. Some go up a steep hill, and we have to latch onto the other drivers to make it up. But you choose the roads you drive on; choose well, my friend. Choose well.

Every one lives for himself, v all have come alone on this planet n have to go back alone but with a definite purpose, v all have to sarch it. In this way v all r co-passangers of this journey called life n v should b wellwisher for others but v do live for our own reasons. In my views v come here for our spiritual evolvement n v need to learn the chapters of joy n sorrow all through the life to reach the destiny of life.

We have a natural right (given by nature) to live for our own self and a social duty (as a social being) to let others have the same right.
However, living for oneself does also mean that we have to satisfy our emotions as well..... and this invariably leads us to act helpfully, benevolently or lovingly towards others, especially those who command our emotional attachments.... and we mistake this as though we are living for others!!
Finally, it is of utmost importance for us to remember that we need to take care of ourselves so as not to burden anyone else with any responsibility towards us... in that sense, living for oneself can not be seen as anything lowly or inferior!!

You can't love somebody, live for somebody other than yourslef - until you live for YOU. I am reminded of the "martyr" syndrome that so many nurses, health care woirkers and others have - they will do and do and do and they end burning out. You have to take care of yourself first.

its morally right to give to others and to love others, but if you never give to yourself or love yourself, then you have nothing to give to another. as selfish as it sounds people are suppose to follow their bliss. if you have a special talent or a certain interest, which im sure you do, everyone does, then you should act on it and do something with your life which helps this talent or interest grow, in turn you will have spiritual growth because you rose above what everyone else said or thought about it, you broke through obstacles standing in your way, and rose to your own standards...which is really what life is all about. you have to help yourself before you can help anyone else. everyone says that but not many really mean it, even though it's a true statement.

one can never live for himself unless he is very selfish or mad . for instance parents live for each other before a child is born. Then they toil for their child to get educated. You study to join college You graduate to earn money you live for your retired parents.then you get married and the cycle goes on. a sadhu or saint live to help others to attain spirituality. Why even a beggars lives because of others for others help him by giving money.so man has been created in such a huge number so that can help and live for one another.if god wanted us to live for ourselves he would have created only one human being
