No, they act coordinately. The nervous system and the endocrine system interact with each other, and so they don't act independently.

The can act independently; endocrine system uses mainly chemicals - hormones; whereas, the nervous uses electrical impulse. That being said, the nervous also depends on certain chemicals to be able to work properly. They do also interact with each other.
