I've been holding out for a Playstation 3 for a good year now (instead of getting an XBox360 which looks great!). It doesn't come out in the UK til at least March, some people say September!!
To make matters worse, I've also had people say that now they're available in the US, they're starting to find annoying problems and bugs with it. Is that true?
In which case, it may be the final nail in the coffin, and i'll just get a 360 instead.

A lot of the problems that are attributed to the PS3 are bull, mostly made up by 360 fanboys and some Wii fanboys.
The PS3 at stores are supposed to lock up after a while in order to prevent people from hogging the PS3.
The only confirmed problem with the PS3 is that it couldn't play Blu-ray movies in 720p if you set it to 720p. Instead if downscales it to 480p. A firmware has been released which fixes this problem.
As with all new technology, problems are to be expected. That's the norm. The 360 had it's problems and the Wii had it's problems. It's less than 5% of the PS3 that will malfunction, but it's very well within the acceptable limits. If there's such a huge problem with the PS3, why haven't there been a class action lawsuit.

YES. there r many bugs and glitches.
1. Remember with the promise sony made, that it will play PS1 and PS2 games?? nope.
2. Remember the blu-ray? doesn't work and downscales ur experience.
3. THE PRICE??? Sony must be joking. $600?? yeah, right. Do urself a favor and get a 360 or a wii. 360 is everything the ps3 is, and cheaper. Wii is very fun to play also. I have wii, and for a moment considered getting ps3, then i saw the problems and bought wii. I AM HAPPY!!! Sony doesn't want a profit, apparently. Boycott them and maaybe next time we will get a better system.

The psthree has the backside % of breakage of all present day next gen systems. It has a 0.03% hazard of breakage and is derived with a loose 365 days of warrenty. you haven't any longer something to rigidity approximately! believe me! i've got had a PS3 considering the fact that final holiday season and as quickly as I left it on for 2 and a 0.5 days and it became nevertheless ok! i've got had 8 broken xbox 360's and a million broken Wii, yet no broken 360's! Plus it has a loose 365 days of warrenty! So in case you'r breaks you deliver interior the PS3 and it comes back in 2 weeks type new yet with you'r hardd rive! you're no longer making a mistake, and it won't get snarled! I promise!

I would hold on before buying a PS3. Wait until they fix the bugs first and then buy one.
The online capability of the Xbox360 blows the PS3 out of the water. The Xbox360 is at the moment, the only console to own.
Until the PS3 can put out games to match what is coming and what is out on the Xbox360 then its not a good deal.

Why not get a Wii instead? Cheaper, and generally a more reliable machine.
Regarding all the bad reports of people injuring themselves and breaking furniture and what not, if you look at the total number of Wii sales it's a very small percentage that have reported damage or injury. People who follow the instructions and safety guidelines have no problems with it.

ya like all of the ps3 r freezing at the game stores i only got to play 4 5 minutes.even tho graphics were nice i wasnt impressed, so ya id buy a xbox 360 or a wii both better stystems :P

well like most new products it does have bugs/ glitches/ defects. if u wanna wait like a yr after the US release u should be able to get one with out bugs. but some people claim to have problems with their ps3s, some claim to have none.

Anytime you have a computer, it will have problems eventually.
The only problem I've had with mine is that is addicting. :~)
