If God was proven to be true, would people be nicer to each other or not? Would they be more apathetic towards the human race because they know they are not the best thing anymore? If God was disproved, would people start rioting? I would...

For those of you who do not understand the concept of a "hypothetical" question, allow me to reiterate the word "IF", a word that, when used properly, creates the hypothetical. I know we CAN'T prove/disprove this, but that's kind of the conditional definition of a hypothetical question.

IF there was proof of God's existence, methinks people would still not listen to him. Some have this impression that you wear a white shirt and walk about yelling "Jesus is lord!" to everybody. Or some other vague image. (Yeah, I believe God exists...) You really think the Porn Industry would change? You think the crooks fused in politics are going to stop stealing money or corruption? Now IF the opposite, the Idol worshippers would go crazy. Athiests would brag, and most christians would be crushed. Morals would become nonexistant because hey, if there's no God, I can do what I want. On that, maybe people would riot over money.

I think it would lead the world into a downward spiral of destruction. Bring them back to the cave man times. God is why some people do good because they believe he is watching and will take them to heaven, he isa the rock that some people lean on and helps them move on with their lives.
If people believed he didn't exist, life would end for many people and they would see no need to do good or help others and only help theirselves. Man would know that there is nothing more powerful than him and it would be a major ego booster leading to more wars until we destroy ourselves.
The idea of God makes us humble and gives us something to strive for, the Romans had theirs, as did the Aztechs etc. Something greater than you.
But many people do not believe in God anyway so this would do nothing to them, just the people that are very religious, they would be angry tat God's non existence had been proven and try to destroy the world 'in the name of God'
If we all knew God existed, then everyone would do the right thing for sure for fear of being rehected from heaven, its the 'not knowing' whether he does or not that affects how we behave.
Good Question

Well, Richard Dawkins thinks the world would be a better place without the belief in God. He just wrote a book titled The God Delusion where he strives to explain, in terms of evolutionry biology, how we came to believe in God.
Personally, I don't think people would start to riot and kill each other just because they found out there was no God. Dawkins talks about this in his book, saying, if a fear of God is the only thing keeping someone in line that's the sort of person you want to be very far away from. I mean, is that person constantly thinking, "I would love to slit that guys throat, but if I do God would be mad. Darn God!"
Needless to say, there are plenty of folks who believe in God and riot and kill people because of it.
Did you know that the military has done studies for the last 500 years trying to figure out why soldiers resist killing the enemy unless a commanding officer is present to order them to attack and kill? The entire point of military training is to squelch the natural human instinct to not kill. I find it very heartening that even in a battle situation we are such moral animals that killing another human being is still very traumatic. I think this instinct has nothing to do with belief in God.

if god existed without a doubt for everyone on earth, people would be more hopeful and happy. they'd know that everything in their life had a purpose because god exists without doubt. this is already true now for people who have faith. for those who dont like me, the existence of god would fill me with belief. just like i believe the sun exists because i cant doubt that fact. but if for a fact, god didnt exist, those who have faith would still believe.. whereas those who pretended to believe or werent fully convinced that they did, would go ballistic. for those who believe that there isnt any god, nothing changes and life goes on. this is kind of like whats going on now. you should be 'good' because you believe this is the right thing to be.. if you're 'good' because you think god will punish you.. maybe you should re-evaluate your faith.

I'm not sure it would matter. Many of the people who make the most noise about believing in God are often some of the most bigoted.
The ones who never say much about it are often compassionate and loving.

God is not something that can be proved or disproved. It is something to be realized within ourselves. For me he is as real as my own self but how can I prove that to others. And tell for what reason would I do that?

No. Moral conduct should exist free of any authorarian authority or it is not true morality. It is simply doing as you are told.
