u wanna know this, ur ovum in the ovary breaks at a certain age, say 12 or 13, it's because ur eggs are not fertilized, when ur egg/ovum is fertilized u r pregnant, ur ovary will produce new eggs for every 28 days, this is known as menstrual cycle, u will reach the menopause stage at the age of 50, it is nothing but the end of production of eggs...

periods in ladies start when they have grown up from girl to women...
Periods come when a gal becomes capable of having children.... what is known as "conceiving"
It is not such a wonderful time of the month for a woman but still she goes through it, i respect my gf for this...
Sometimes its painful too...
