Yeah - over inflating a tire is a great way to stop a tank slapper... WTF is HE on about???? DO NOT listen to that guy. Over inflating a tire can cause you to crash easier than a non-existent steering stabilizer....

The GPR is okay. Id go with Scott's myself - just a better brand all around. But the GPRs are okay as well... And, I had mine on a ZX7RR Ninja that I rode both street and track on - and I never changed the settings and I never had trouble in parking lots....a little heavy is right, but "very hard" to make manovers? WIMP.

Do these people (above me) even ride??

Just make sure it;s set up right. When set up for track, it's very bad bad bad on the road and you might end up not being able to turn quick enough.

Slow speed manouvres around car parks and the like are very hard wth this steering damper. Steering felt very heavy.

This was on 2003 CBR600R.

hope this helps.

I ride with an Ohlins (Scotts) damper and give it only the highest praises. I have ridden a bit with the GPR and it is similar enough, that I cannot tell any performance difference while riding. Either one is money well spent.

Clarkey_i.d.; Mostly, I do not like them; but IF you remove it, [always be very sure
you have your front tire pumped to 10 lbs -MORE than recommended in the book.

The one bike that DESPERATELY needed a steering damper
was the very-late '70's Suzuki 750/1000 cc machines,
They had 'come out' with rather 'quick' steering: had -in actuallity- 2-degrees
too Little 'rake' -on the steering-head. I have TWO friends who "came-to-grief"
-not killed- but scared, Witt-less(!), at high speed -out on the highway.
They'd both had only about 24-lbs
IN their Suzukis front tires, and they began to get -on their 1979 models.. a terrifying, "tank-slapping" (front)-wheel-wobble; one that caused BOTH riders TO CRASH!

(The Suzuki "Death-Trap" was common knowledge -by 1980. Yet, those bikes
would NOT repeat it with around 45 lbs in the front tyres..
Suzuki, paniccing about "their name", -solved the problem by altering things,
somewhat; like: i.5" longer front-forks; and, next came
a 2-degree increase in steering-head rake
-completely solving the Crisis!
(Anyway: remember plenty air-pressure -if you open-it out-
ON a 'fast' road, sans damper..).
