Life depends on one's strategy and good luck. It has to be a matter of empathic strategy whether to recount or not to recount to even your nearest others what you do or not do or what you think about and all your fantasies. There is a saying, saying that the right hand shall not know what the left hand does. Sometimes telling your truth to your own spouse may even cost you your life.

On the other hand, one may choose to practice the virtue of honesty in the things that one does together with one's spouse or together with others. Honesty and fairness in one's actions towards others and towards oneself may give the fiercy brighty glow of healthy life in one's face. No?

I dont hide money from my spouse. I dont ever have contact with old flames, no need to so that I dont hide either. There is only one thing I have hid from him and thats because I dont want him to ask questions. He knows most of my past, its not been a colorful one so nothing to hide. And I am sure I could tell him and it would not affect our relationship but its just hard for me to talk about. When he first met my family I told him "there are things in my family we dont talk about respect that" so he's never asked my family about it either. Doesnt bother me because I know the truth and the truth wont bring her back it will only bring out more hurt. Sad thing is I can talk to total strangers {online} about it better then I can him and I think thats because I know if I "talk" about it, it will make me cry and bring back way to many memories.

You are asking how many people, hide things from their spouse? I have been married to my husband for almost forty nine yrs. coming this June, when we got married, the first year was super good all honey this honey that, after that yr. I became wiser, I could not rely on my husband, when a crisis occurred because he could not take it, oh, he was and still is a good provider for us his family, but other than that, forget it, Once I almost had a heart attack and he was here did he take me to the Hospital, or called an ambulance? NO! He froze and could not move. We have been through a lot but one thing I can tell you, I can never depend on my husband when there is an emergency.when one of my children became sick or there was a problem with one of my sons in school I kept it from him so as not to worry him, and I still keep secrets from him when it concerns the Family.

I know for a fact men and women both do this, not to hurt each other but to have there own pease of mind, in other words the old saying,. What they know want hurt them, but sometimes that saying blows up in your face, so what I do is always be completely honest and that way you will never have to make up another lie to cover up the one you have already told. If you tell the truth you will always remember you have said, if you tell a lie you forget what you have said all together. Always be honest !!!

I do beleive that it is a natural defense mech. within all of us. Because lets be honest, the only person you can ever really trust is yourself. Plus noone really wants to hurt anyone including themselves, so why bust yourself out if it can be easily consealed. Though i am a women and the thought of true everlasting love is so nice, I'm smart enough now to know it's such a crock-o-!!!!!!!!!!!!

I dont see the harm in keeping my own secrets. It gives me the feeling that I have something that is mine alone. I think people need that.
