Hopefully for a while. Conservatives do not embody the American way if you ask me. America is supposed to be about freedom and equality not structure and over-control.

America is liberal now. I hope it stays that way.

Go Democrates.

Even with Iraq, Abramoff, Foley and Macada, the Democrats took control of Congress by a small margin and through a series of 1%-3% victories, by nominating centrist and in some cases conservative candidates. You won by nominating people like Shuler and Casey and because George Allen told a stupid joke. Turning around after the fact and claiming that that was a mandate to return to Teddy Kennedy-style social programs is the surest and fastest way to lose what you gained.

I believe they will be in a position to gain control once they prove themselves to Americans again by going back to their fiscally conservative roots.

Unfortunately having your voices and wishes ignored tends to leave a bad taste in peoples mouth as it has done with your presidents own constituents.

Refusing to negotiate with detractors and the steadfast push for prolonging war that most Americans don't agree with in the first place has all but guaranteed a long lasting position of infamy the party will have to overcome in order to regain power.

Conservatives haven't been in power recently. The neo-cons that currently inhabit Congress and the White House are far from conservative.

I trust Conservative as much as I do liberals but Conservatives share the same views as me most of the time were as the liberals don't. I will still vote for a Conservative candidate whether they are from the democratic party or republican party is still not determined. The republicans usually have the more Conservative view.

You mean republicans........most of the republicans we have are not Conservative. If we had real Conservatives in power all these years the general public would favor using dogs to hunt down the remaining liberals so we could put them in a cage...like a zoo or something.

Like freedom, conservatism is the natural state of mankind.

I'd love to predict the date to be "The fourth of Never" but the Democrats have a stunning history of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

When integrity has become the only principle to follow. I used to be a Republican but now i am just me a man. I will vote for the most honest and loyal leader to our America. I guess Joe McCarthy was right all along. McCarthyism is alive in me still.

You must be young, no party has held the Congress anywhere near that long. Even after Nixon, Republicans regained power after one term. 2 terms for Clinton & the change again. There is definitelt a pattern there.
