Are you on Y!A when you should be working? I'm going to assume you mean while you're on a break or something. Maybe you should ask HR office, just as a "just wondering" question, without giving away your hand.
Is there some kind of internet use rule your employer has? I get on Y!A or check my Y!Mail when I am on a break. Our workplace just has some kind of filter that doesn't allow advertising to be displayed on whatever site I am on. You do pose a good question. I mean it's obvious porn is a big no-no, but what are employer's stance on internet shopping while at work? Okay during breaks? Or not at all?
I just don't answer questions that if someone is to look over my shoulder, would find it inappropriate or downright stu*id.

Yes. At my previous job, I never had time to do anything like that, but now I have Floor Duty, and if the activity is low and not many calls coming in, I sometimes will Y!A.

Most people aren't supposed to surf the internet at work but they do it anyway. I usually hide the page and pretend I'm doing work if someone walks by.

Besides, seriously, do you think you're the only one at your workplace using their PC for things other than work? There is no way to prevent it unless your IT has one hell of a firewall, and millions of sites blocked.

Work is the only place I get on here. When I am at home, I spend time with my wife and newborn daughter.
Then again, I have a really laid back job...as long as I get my stories written by deadline. :~)
