I came across, a news article today about Aishwarya Rai being sue for kissing another actor on screen, (I believe it's an old article). I mean actors do it all the time. I understand that India has a total different culture, but I mean she is 30 years old or something like that.
Help me understand please.

In India, we are all hypocrates, we were the people,who gave kamasutra to the world but now, we think it is a sin to talk or write about sex. This is due to the influence , of the Christian Missonaries,when India was under colonial rule for more than 200 years. So some stupid publicity seeker tries to gain some cheap publicity by taking Iswarya to the court, (he might even be an agent of Iswarya, who is known for her cheap publicity stunts ) I can assure you that it is not illegal for Bollywood actors, or any other actors of Indian Cinema to have a kiss or smooch or whatever you call it, in cinema or in true life. India has changed, it is as mordern as any developed country in the world.

Well kissing on the screen isn't something illegal. Indian culture is surely not very westernized but then Aishwarya's case isn't something that would raise an eyebrow. But still it happened. The real reason behind it is, some guy (the lawyer who have accused the scene) found a way to get some limelight. One man's opinion is not country's viewpoint. I guess he wanted some cameras around him and that is what he got.

I don't think it is illegal. it is frowned upon though. my boyfriend is Indian and he has NEVER seen his mum and dad kiss before!! I coukdn't believe it when he told me! We can't kiss or cuddle infront of any of his family...
