Why do some guys have to lie so much?

I just want to know why when some guys have to lie. I can confront my husband with things that I've busted him on doing and have proof in my hand that he has done it and he will still look me in the eye and lie to my face. Whats up guys? Help me to understand.

I don't know why, but I DO know he won';t change!
Better decide now if you want to put up with this and live like this the rest of your life.

I was married to a man like that. His son by a previous wife was like that too. Unfortunately, one of our three son is also like that. All adult now, all still doing it .... ex is 63, stepson is 38, my son is 22 ... all lie like a snake. Yes I have confronted, tried to help , etc. etc. etc.

They don't seem to see a problem.

First of all he thinks he is smarter than you, and can trick you. Some (people) not just guys lie so well and so much, they begin to believe their own lies, they continue to lie and usually about small trivial things that really don't matter. Its not a game anymore to him, its a way of life. I have met women like this too. Suggest counseling, or some sort of self help program. There are reasons he has become so good at it, it will/may be difficult to make him change, as this is the way he is. Good luck, this is a hard one.

For someone to continue to lie, even when confronted with proof of their lie, has always amazed me. I'd never had that experience until later in life. Looking back, I think my partner saw in me a need to forgive. So if he continued to deny he did "whatever", I could pretend he was truthful and the evidence was false. Otherwise, I might have to make a choice to leave the liar, and that caused unbearable fear for both of us.

I think we made an unspoken pact out of an emotional need. As long as he didn't admit his action, I could forgive him, and we would go on together. An admission of guilt would have forced me to make some kind of choice. Neither one of us wanted that.

So when a man lies to me, I have to look at myself and see if I am choosing to be a partner in his lie.

I don't think I have suffered a more intense pain than the betrayal of trust by a loved one. You will need to make a choice--exist in a world of betrayal and fear, or choose to face your fear and move on. Good luck with either choice you make.

i have the exact same problem, my boyfriend of seven years is a compulsive liar. it drives me nuts, he lies about the stupidest things that i see no reason to lie for. I know this is not an answer but i just wanted to share my experience.

maybe that's the only way they know how to be?so do the opposite and you lie to your spouse and you might just get the TRUTH?

Some men are just that way...........no balls at all. You really need to divorce him, hes a loser if he treats you like that. I dont know you, but NO ONE should be treated that way.

they probably learned it from their dad i was with a guy for two years that lied every time he opened his mouth but then realized his dad did to he was just like his dad

SOME PEOPLE'S RATIONAL IS TO DENY, DENY, DENY.

DOES HE LIE ABOUT SOMETHING STUPID, OR LIE ABOUT CHEATING? IF HE LIES ABOUT CHEATING EVEN THOUGH YOU CAUGHT HIM RED-HANDED, THEN HE'S SCARED.

IF HE'S LYING ABOUT MONEY, THEN IT'S PROBABLY A DRUG PROBLEM, GAMBLING OR MAYBE A MISTRESS.

MEN LIE ABOUT EVERYTHING. MY HUSBAND WILL LIE ABOUT WHAT COLOR MY EYES ARE.
