Not as well known but an option you should look into is Fort Wilderness Cabins... a great way to save some $$ TOO... because you can all saty in one... they sleep 6 and have there own kitchen and grill.... great transportation can take you everywhere.... http://www.mouseplanet.com/dtp/wdwguide/4_Accommodations/FWCn.htm

The Contemporary and Polynesian resorts were my next favories growing up and have activities teens and tweens will like.

Beach & Yacht clubs along with the Boardwalk resort all have the Disney Boardwalk close by.... ESPN Club there is a draw.

If that doesnt sound like what you are thinking.... Pop Century, allstar, and sports resorts are budget conscious.

The Grand Floridian is one the other side, only the best.... nothing better on property.

It kind of depends on what you and the kids like. I would say that just about any of the resorts are good. I have stayed in some at all levels, here are our favorites (with an 11 yr old and 7 yr old):

Value resorts - All-Star Movies - Geared way more to the kids. Your kids are a little older, so they may enjoy the All-Star Sports or Pop Century a little better. Upside, less expensive, HUGE pool, geared towards kids/families. Downside, rooms are pretty small, only a food court for food choices.

Moderate - Caribbean Beach resort - bang for your buck I think this is one of the best. I stayed here with my family the last time we visited. Rooms are bigger, pool is STILL huge, much quieter. Has rental of bikes, water sprites. Food court and restaurant.

Deluxe - Polynesian resort - my favorite of all of them. Rooms are big, has lots to do for kids and adults. Can see the Magic Kingdom from the resort, so you can see the fireworks over Cinderella's castle every night, along with the water parade. Gorgeous setting. Downside - WAY expensive.

Hope this helps. As long as you stay on the grounds in a Disney resort, you can't go wrong. NO one has customer service like Disney. Have a great time!

It depends on your budget. Disney's Value Resorts, the All Star and Pop Century are great resorts for a lot less than their delux resorts. You can stay at the All Star ot Pop Century right now for as little as $82 a night.
I also recommend these more expensive, but wonderful Disney Resorts:

Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge - enjoy views of an African Safari right from your balcony!
Disney's Polynesian Resort - great views of Bay Lake and home to Disney's only Luau Show!
Disney's Coronado Springs Resort - go kayaking on the lake and enjoy great mayan and aztec culture!
Disney's Beach Club Resort

Caribbean Beach is an excellent moderate resort. They have a marina where you can rent paddle boats or mini speedboats, you can rent bikes (try the big four seater), and there are several pools to choose from. My kids loved the 'beachy' feel of the resort. Have fun!

The Polynesian or the Yacht and Beach Club.

Any of them! It really depends on what they are all into. Keep in mind that when you stay "on property" you can go to any of the other properties as well, either for the day, or just for lunch or dinner.
