If you are just typing text into Microsoft Word for letters and stuff it is fine. If you are doing graphic applications, get at least a 17 inch screen. Thanks, http://www.desktopsupport.tv/

We have 12", 14", 15", and 17" models at the university I support. The 14" models are older that no longer meet are standards so we typically buy 15" models. Now we will be using 12" Tablets for a different purpose.
If you are going to primarily use the notebook's screen as opposed to an external display the 15" models are much better.

Not really, mine is a 15" and my parents have a 17", can't tell much difference between the two really. Anyway, the bigger the screen, the bigger the laptop so the less portable/more bulky it is which kind of defeats the object of a laptop.
