If we have only 1 thing each to feel great about. Why are there so many good things?

I don't know how many thousands of times this question pops up. Life is the ability to move around, think, feel, eat, sleep, etc.
If you can't move, and you're at room temperature, you no longer have life. You're dead.
Change your life ?? Why not, we make many changes throughout our lifetime.
I feel great about many things, not just one.

First you will have to understand what the charactoristics of life is. If you figure that out you will understand why it is here for.

So what is the charactoristic of life. Every thing in this universe has a tendency to resist something that disturbs it. Look at the simplest idea of inertia.

Now may it be a unicellular organism or a blue whale. It tries to resist and escape hostile situations that could be threatening to its existance. So in pure and simple terms the purpose of life is to avoid being destroyed. Thats why living beings change, adapt, evolve and resist destruction and reproduce its own kind before its time on the face of this planet is over.

So as a living being what is your duty?....Simple and straight. Your duty as an organism is to play your part in ensuring the survival and well being of your species. And if you do anything against that then you are threatening the well being of the species and thus an anti social element. Some people say that meaning of life is to understand and spread love. They are right.
True love is selfless and its all about sacrifice. Its about doing what you should with out expecting anything in return. But only great souls can fully make that concept real. But you can still do a little bit of it. You can like, love a woman stay faithful to her, bring up your kids as good and talented citizens who might contribute something to the society. Here your self motives are being satisfied but it is doint good to the society as well. Or you can throw away all these family life crap and go for full fledged charity work to save the sick weak and tormented.

So by now it is pretty clear that you can choose to do what ever you like.

I ask this same question once in a meditation. The answer came clear as a bell.

It said I have placed you here to learn the true meaning of Love. What ever it was that was answering then told me something that really set me back. It said that I felt the way I did about certain people because I did not understand the true meaning of love. I protested and said that I did my best to love all of the people who were deserving of love.

It replied "yes that is your misunderstanding. You see love as something that you dole out in tiny little portions here and there to people who you have judged to be worthy of it. This is not love at all, it is only judgment". This stopped me dead in my tracks. I suddenly realized that what it was saying to me was true. This realization brought me to tears. It went
on and told me, "You treat love as though there is some shortage of it. It is not something that you can run out of. The more love that you give, the more love that there is in the world. Its that simple. The only way that there can be a shortage of it is if you hoard it and keep it to yourself."

It went on to explain, that "this is what Jesus was trying to tell you when he asked you to turn the other cheek, to judge not and to love your neighbor. He made no exceptions in these things that he requested of you. Why are you making exceptions, and judging some as worthy of love and others as not? Jesus fully intended for you to apply this love that you are to all, in a universal manner without any judgment of any sort". By this time the tears Were flowing freely. I was crying because for the first time in my life I Understood what the message Jesus left for us in the bible actually meant.

This has become my truth. I can't say what yours is for sure, but I have a feeling that it is probably similar.

Love and blessings

The meaning to life is to pass the test called the world. How do you pass the test? First you need to know who God is (the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost). Then you need to know what God expects. Then you need to live your life according to what the King James Bible says in the New Testement about salvation and repentence. The other opition is not a good one. Get yourself in an Independent, Fundement, chicken eatin', right wing, Bapsist Church. Or a Bible Church. Don't count on the worldly idiots on here to give you the right answer on this, or most any question.

The meaning of life: To try and rise above all the politics, criticizm, materialism, to learn how to believe in yourself 100% and to love yourself. If you don't give to yourself once in a while then you won't have anything to give to anyone else. To become more spiritual than physical. To crave knowledge and wisdom instead of fast cars and money. To follow your heart and do what you feel is essential to you and your spiritual growth (whether it's practicing things you are talented in, or persuing a degree in something that interests you. or simply traveling the world to meet different kinds of people) and happily doing it regardless of what anyone else says or thinks about it. We are each a part of God and if we deny all of our dreams and desires because of what others think then we are denying a dream or desire of God. We are here to learn and experience for God. Yes God already knows everything....but to truly 'know' is to 'experience' and that is what we were created for.....he experiences through us. And that my friend is the most basic way I can put it.

to me, life is a place where i can do as many good things as i want...life is a challenge...life is to teach us to be a good person...life is an education....

if we want something, we have to put some efforts....although maybe we still won't get what we want...but that is because we weren't meant to get it....if we don't do anything, for sure we won't get the thing that we want...we decide our own way of life....

"the meaning of life is cherish it and not to fear death." ofcourse in the real world life is miserable most of the time. they're so many good things because they happen to other people. i have the gift of bad luck. we have to find a purpose to drive us to live so we pay taxes and die. naturally there's more to life than that but when everyones left you for dead paying taxes will still always be there for you.
