Yes.
Silver has been the most popular car colour globally for the past few years, and has been the most popular in the UK for even longer.
That's why I ordered my car in blue - don't like to follow the herd.

Actually there are still some manufacturers who don't offer metallic silver. I see metallic silver most often on German cars, especially Mercedes.
Many manufacturers, like VW, charge extra for silver metallic.
Why are you so surprised? It's a very flashy, glamorous color on a car.

Silver is a massively popular colours for cars nowadays because it doesn't show scratches and is easy to maintain. It is desirable and so enables the car to retain its value better.
Due to the fact that so many people have now bought silver cars, the colour does seem a tad boring.

Yes, I noticed that the other day. We live in a society where we are given more choice than ever before and what do we do? All choose the same thing. I'm not sure why there are so many new cars either. Aren't they really expensive? Who are all these people with all this money. Haven't they got booze to buy?

Definitely a lot more of 'em, but probably cos metallic paint is less of a luxury than it used to be therefore no longer always entails a premium on the car.
The exceptions seems to be Ford Transit-type vans (White or Blue) and penis-extension sports cars (red or purple)

It seems to be a popular colour. To add to your frustration, there will be a new silver colour. Casino ice (like the car 'James Bond' drives in the movie Casino Royale).

I've noticed that too. Maybe car manufacturers bought a huge job lot of this type of paint.
