for example "Goth, Heavy Meatal, Hippies, etc. can anyone tell me what the group "EMO" (I think thats correct) is and what they are all about?

"EMOtional" they are almost like new age punks...but on the soft side. The boys have longer hair (but not hippie hair) and they all dress in darker colors, trend towards the 80's comeback. And they listen to whiney "rock" music.

emo is short for emotional. describes a certain genre of music and emotional state.
not all emo's cut themselves and not all cutters are emo.
