There is no documented Marijuana related death but there is documented medicinal value to Marijuana, such as Glaucoma and Chemotherapy Sickness Treatment. If legal, the government could tax it for revenues and the cost of fighting crime would save the tax payers. Just want to know what is the real reason for this prohibition.

Don't smoke it anymore, but probably have smoked more than all the people who answer your question put together...(back when it was 20 dollars an OUNCE) so, my opinion is this.....In my life I have NEVER heard of someone smoking pot then hacking their family to death...It is not a drug that inhibits violence as meth crack heroine coke, the pills floating around, etc. does.....It is illegal because the government can not tax or regulate it....why would you buy any from the govt. if it was legal you could grow your own....The ways to grow pot have gotten more elaborate, and the govt. couldn't control how potent the plant could get, and probably the fact minors could get their hands on it too easily....(steal a plant, or pot from their parents or siblings)......I think it should be Decriminalized though, and our police and DEA go after the Meth problem.....Throwing a person in jail for pot that is for obvious personal use in with murderers and rapists and borderline mental patients, is crazy.....Ordinarily they are non violent non trouble making people who just get caught, and seems a Meth Head is more of a person to worry about...A pot head will just eat you out of house and home, not steal from you and murder you!.....

It is not illegal because people are afraid of the outcome if so many can use it for non medicinal purposes. Also there is a back office scenario to all of this. Someone is making money off of it now, and if they made it legal, taxation, and regulation would diminish profit

if you're talking about the U.S., it because of the Mexican immigration in the 1930s. This new drug was brought in by these 'foreign' people, so it must be bad--that kinda thing.

i recommend the documentary below. there will be an episode airing tonight (Thursday)

the gov't does not want to admit they were wrong! millions are in prison or have had to go to court over the b.s. plus they are making sooo much money off of everyone in trouble for it!
