Its an older movie, but I have never seen anything like Robert Duvall an Mac Sledge in Tender Mercies. For a black girl from NYC that has never been on a farm or listened to a country song in its entirety, to be moved to tears and feel such heartache for a washed up alcoholic country singer down on his luck is not an easy thing to do. It takes a hell of an actor. I only saw the movie because I was at a friend's and she forced me to watch it.. Now, I own it. He won an well deserved oscar for his role too.

I was going to say Denzel Washington for either Malcolm X or Training Day, but damn, the person who said Billy Bob Thornton in Slingblade does have a point. That was some DAMN GOOD ACTING !

Tim obbins in the shawshank redemption. His portrail of Andy Dufrain was so believable. I mean every time I see that movie his acting was so heartfelt and intense that it could bring the coldest man to tears. He won two acadamy awards for the film and was recognized for his role in the film and basically that was his springboard for more films.
