From what I have heard, aintitcoolnews.com is likely the greatest for getting the first scoop on a lot of stuff, but mainly sci-fi and fantasy movies. Everything else is Netflix, and sometimes imdb.com offers a tidbit or two.

Netflix will generally tell you if a movie is out on DVD and when it is expected to be out. If you are a member, you can put it at the top of your queue and they will send it to you as soon as it is out.

I thought netflix too, but yahoo gives you more info, trailer, cast, plot, a lot of additional helpful information
