Do you think that people that write poorly (ex: 2=to, 4=for, da=the) are less intelligent or are they just in a really big hurry? Or is there something that I missed and this is the cool new way to write? Also, what iS uP WiTh ThiS tYpE oF WriTiNg?

Eh, pop culture, It's just informal speech. It doesn't prove that they are dumb, however it doesn't show their intelligence either and probably expresses their lack of vocabulary. Writing grammatically correct sentences gives you a leg up as people will take you more seriously. Its like a guy walking in with ripped jean or a nice suit, you can't judge a book by its cover, in an informal situation, that is.

Writing is becoming a lost art. Kids rarely have pen pals any more. Keyboarding skills also are going to pot. Some of it habit from ham radio operators who love to use shortcuts when communicating. That, however, is a tiny fraction of the problem.

even if i do not trust the generalization that each and anyone people have adverse writing skills, i believe that some people only lack the inducement to write down precise. besides, some college structures recommend a preparation type the position they don't quickly teach grammar skills (a thanks to write down a sentence, what form of puncuation to operate, etc.), yet quite they assume a pupil will "study" a thanks to precise communicate and write English only from listening to the individuals round them. even if this technique works or no longer is yet another tale...

I absolutely cannot stand it! Even on msn messenger I use normal words. I find it very annoying using syntax, or switching from upper to lower case. Very annoying indeed.
