They claim this is for efficiency, but i believe it is programming the youger generation into sticking their hands to have their fingers read in order to purchase something. Desensitiaation is a very powerful mechanism. What do you think?

fao kaypee - Don't you remember your grandparents fighting in ww2 for something called freedom. It is not the point of having nothing to hide. please understand that when this surveillance state is fully operational it will only take a brisk change of law and slight of hand and this country will be a fascist state. And then i guarantee, you will have something to hide.

Think it is a great idea....if the little scrotes break into my house then the police can get them! I think we should fingerprint and DNA everyone. If you are afraid of it.....what are YOU guilty of?
I am fully supportive of freedom of speech and recognise the freedom that was won for me by my forefathers. However all the conspiracy theorists need to come into the real world....the "authorities" do not have the man power, the technology, or the interest to track, profile, or otherwise interfere with "joe public" IF the opportunity was there to use all this technology to spy then there are bigger targets than you and me. If it makes the world a safer palce from terrorists and our communities safer from YOBS....bring it on!

a distinctly double edged sword . on the one hand greater information theoretically should mean greater efficiency and cost effectiveness on the other is our freedom being eroded. I see it like a gun . not inherently dangerous but in the wrong hands pure evil in its use. We cannot undo technology History has surely taught us that but we must ensure that it remains a useful servant rather than the Master. So whether we like politics or not we must stay involved and ensure that we the people remain in control in practise not just in theory .

The same things applies to Speed Cameras, the more ubiquitous they are, the more people will just accept that their lives are monitored 24/7.
