Best Public Health School?

Question

I'm planning to get my Master's in Public Health, and I am trying to figure out which program is the best/most reputable. Since I work full time, I need to do a distance program, and I've narrowed it down to 6 or 7. Just wondering if anyone knows anything about which schools are best.

I should probably add that I'm working in the Public Health field already, so it's pretty much impossible for me to move to another school. There's only one program within driving distance, but it's not accredited.

Johns Hopkins, Harvard, and UNC-Chapel Hill are ranked as the top 3 by US News and World Report. However, I don't know how these schools are with distance learning. I go to the University of Texas and I know that they have 5 campuses for their School of Public Health. Many classes are offered ITV and a few courses are offered online. You might want to research in-depth on the 6-7 schools you've chosen to see if they have online courses or a similar distance learning format.
Also, don't forget that you're going to need to do a practicum (internship) and thesis. So you might also want to look at the faculty at each university and compare it to your interest areas. It is sooo important to make sure that your school has many faculty members in your interest area. They are great resources and can help you network!

Probably if you made a list of the 'best' it wouldn't include any distance learning programs. You really would be better off looking at schools in your area, or if this is your lifetime career choice, you have to bite the bullet and go to where the best schools are - two years of living away from home to get a respectable credential instead of a useless piece of electronic paper that will not be respected....
