I've used Maracyn and Maracyn-Two together. I've used them together for 1 week. The pop eye is lessening, however is not totally gone. What other options are available? What about Trisulfa?

I'm with G on this one ... keep up what you are doing. You said it seems to be getting better so it sounds like you are on the right track. Treat for at least 10 days though, if you stop early it could reoccur and be much more difficult to treat. Maracyn and maracyn 2 cover both gram negative and gram positive bacteria, so other anitbiotics probably won't help unless you have a resistant strain in your tank. That's doubtful if it's getting better already. Also beaware that this treatment will kill some of the bacteria needed for your ammonia cycle, so do frequent water changes for a week or two after the treatment is over to help prevent water quality problems. Best of luck.

Pop eye in a fish is also called Dropy which is a fungus, where the body swells up and pushs the eyes out of the head and amkes the scales stand up.

This is what I have...

Melaifx is good to use but only if its internal
Fungus Clear but Jungle is good for parasites (are on the outside of the body)

Melafix is an Antibiotic and the Pop eye is a fungus not a parasite

So I would say any kinda of fungus treatment. And you need to be patient. It will take longer then just a few days to clear up.

i do the maracyn maracyn2 thing for two treatments -- 10 days and it usually works. i do a water change in the middle. i just started a little betta pet store rescue yesterday. from my understanding trisulfa can be used for a 14 day treatment so you double treatment with that too.

do you use melafix in your water? it is a topical antibacterial that i think helps speed up the process of healing for just about anything.

One tablespoon per 5g of water may be staggering for a minimum of three days. i does no longer propose drugs actual away, because of the very actuality the chemical factors ought to tamper which consists of your water staggering, harming your fish a lot more desirable. With popular water differences, your fish ought to get more desirable perfect.
