OK, we have been working on our house now for over a year. We originally had hired some help, that fell thru along with a chunk of change. So we've had to do a bunch of this work ourselves. We took a break over the holidays, and hubby is having a hard time getting back into it. (I'm tired of it too, but we are soooo close to being finished, and I only know how to do some things w/tools, he knows practically all of it). I don't want to nag, so I try really hard not to, but about once a week, I'll say, "Hey, why don't you work on the house." Also, I've been VERY attentive to his manly needs lately, so please don't tell me to butter him up that way, it's apparently got nothing to do with anything. We have no heat, this is our second winter without heat (and he's a licensed HVAC guy)....NO EXCUSE for that one. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can motivate him, or do I just have to keep waiting patiently? I really don't want to have to nag, I'm not his mom....

One thing I have done in the past is start doing something myself, even when I really don't know what I'm doing. Once my boyfriend saw me doing it "wrong" he took over and got it done.

Also, sometimes just seeing me doing stuff got him motivated to help or do something.

No heat?! in the winter?! wow, your easy(not in a sexual sense) we decided to rip out all the carpet in our downstairs to put in wood floors, which meant basically all the furniture downstairs is out of the house, no table to eat at, etc, my husband promised it would be done by thanksgiving, and it wasn't, and every year we host the dinner for our whole family, so I had told him if he didn't have it done, I would be going to my mothers for thanksgiving, he and his family wouldn't be invited...he didn't have it done...I went to my mothers, he had dinner...alone, christmas came....I told him if it wasn't done (since it wasn't done, we would not be able to put up the decorations, tree, etc) my daughter and I would be going to moms for christmas, he would not be invited, therefore he would miss out on our daughter opening gifts and xmas breakfast..etc...it wasn't done...he had xmas...alone, and now its still not done, since theres no table...I don't cook, me and my daughter go out to eat... but finally I hit the nail on the head.....there is only one tv right now, because the other one was downstairs, and its not there because its a hugh big screen, so there is only one tv...me and my daughter get the tv, which meant no football, amazingly..the floors will now be done before superbowl... you get the pic...if there was no heat..during winter....I would not be living here honey...

another option...hire a really really hot handyman(as a joke from one of the personal ads, and make sure he's still there for dinner when hubby comes home)

I would tell him that if you do not get heat soon, you will have to start sleeping at someone elses house BY YOURSELF, while he stays home in a cold bed by himself. That should light a fire under his butt!!!!

Simple, just tell him if he loves you he'll do it. It works on me, because I just don't want to let her down.
