Have you tried talking to your doctor?

Why do you think it's the house? Are YOU constantly sick? Anyone else who lives in the home? Unless we're talking about toxic mold, asbestos, terrible dust or something, I don't see how a house could make him ill? People get sick from bacteria and viruses.

Poor you. You and your baby cant go on living like this. Look for the number of citizens advice in the yellow pages and explain your situation to them they are really helpful for things like this. If you have no luck there then find the number of the environmental health office and give them a call. Your housing officer needs shot! Good luck x
P.s NHS direct might be helpful, you can explain your worries about your babies health and they may be able to give you some advice and contacts. The number is 0845 4647.
My friend had mice in her home and noone would help her until the threat of environmental health was made. Best luck:-)

First of all if he has been sick since birth he should have been to a doctor. You're not a doctor and I doubt can diagnose an illness as well as prescribe treatment. So the first thing to do is to get him to a doctor and to tell the doctor that he has been sick like this for 6 months, that you suspect there is something in the home that is causing it but can't be sure. The doctor will run tests, assess the situation then make a diagnosis and prescribe treatement. But no doctor can do that until YOU take the baby in.

I think he sounds fine. Why are you concerned, is his doctor concerned? If you arent breast feeding him I guess he would be eating formula. If you make him too fat while he is young, he may have a problem with being fat all his life. Introduce him to foods that are geared for his age. Cereals and baby foods.A lot of people bypass baby food and just blend some of what they eat as a family. Well mashed bananas and avacadoes are good. Do you take him to a well baby clinic? Ask there about some guidlines for feeding him well . If you have a local food co-op or healthfood store you can learn there about healthy things for him.

Does he have asthma? Insist that your GP refers your son to the hospital to see a respiratory and immunology specialist. Then have your premises inspected by a housing officer, if they are reluctant to inspect go to the Citizens Advice Bureau and get a solicitor to write a letter insisting on a housing inspection.
If your son does have asthma - see a solicitor about your rights on rehousing or having your accomodation improved.

Best of luck.

First, you need to get that baby to a doctor. I'm assuming you haven't done so yet, and you should have first time you saw he/she wasn't getting over the cold and cough.

Secondly, it could be allergies or asthma that can later cause bronchitis or pneumonia.

Thirdly, it could be the environment IN the house and not the house itself. Do you keep your house clean and sanitized? Do you sanitize your hands often?

These are a few questions to ask yourself. I would definitely get to a doctor before your baby gets worse.

Hope this helps.

my little boy is the same, hes 8 mths and has always had a cough, sneezes and wheezing, i think it was our house as it was drafty, we moved to a new house last week, so fingers crossed he will improve with time, have you got a heater and an extractor fan in his room? i found its best to keep him warm, spesh as night when hes not moving as much and try keep the air clean as possible, i wud get the health inspector involved tho if no one else is listening to you, your babies health is the most important thing, have you not got any family you could stay with while the issue is been resolved?
good luck

If its the house, and the housing officer won't listen or return phone calls, then call a health inspector, or someone from the county to check the house.
