make him dinner- either a sandwich or a steak, im sure, would go over well.
if you dont mind spending the money, get him tickets to his favorite teams next game
but whatever, i like valentines day to be ME time, so it means that most of the day is me and my girlfriends pampering ourselves. its just a hallmark holiday anyway, right?
i mean, its all pink and lacy, which is why it only comes once a year. the guys can have the rest of the year (we can only put up with one day like that at a time anyway, and then we need to recover). at least i do, and the girls i hang out with.
make it something special (but nonfrilly), and then let him loose with his boys.
unless he LIKES frilly. then...im at a loss.

Valentine's Day, in my opinion, has always been more about the girl than the guy. Last year, my girlfriend sent me a dozen roses to my job (and yes I sent her flowers too!) and it caught me completely off guard. But then she took me to get a couples massage and spa day. It was a great day mostly because it took me completely by surprise. And just so you know, I took her to a Billy Joel concert later as my gift to her.
