Awww how sweet are you - so concerned with your wife's pregnancy! I'm about 19 weeks along now, and although I didn't experience this the first time around, I'm getting it a lot this time. It helps not to stand for too long at a time, or to sit for a few minutes before standing up, or drinking a lot of fluids and making sure she is eating enough carbs and/or healthy sugars. I'm sure it will eventually fade (I hope!) Good luck - and keep up the great concern and consideration for her - it goes a long way in helping her through this pregnancy.

I know in some pregnancies the dizziness never subsides. I am current 37 weeks pregnant so i know what you mean. I still get dizzy sometimes now. Just make sure that she is eating and keeping her stomach somewhat full to help with any nausea that may come with the dizziness. But overall, i know sitting for a while always helps me gain back my "evenness". You may want to talk to your doctor and see if she has anything like gestinal diabetes (she probably hasn't been tested for it yet.) that could be part of the problem also. Congrats on the pregnancy though!

lol im almost 19 weeks and i still have this as well. Completly normal. The best thing she can do is just to take her time getting up, from sitting or laying to standing. And when shes laying down, have her roll on her left side for a few mins, then sit up for a few minutes before standing. Try not to leave your stomach empty. Always keep something in there :) besides the baby :) Hope this helps and goodluck and congrats :)

I haven't found anything to help.
I'm 21 weeks and everytime i stand up i have to put my head down and stand still for a few seconds and that helps alot.
My doctor would tell me to stand up slowely but it doesn't matter if i move 1mph, i'm still going to get dizzy!
I hope she gets over this soon, it's so horrible to feel dizzy - it doesn't really go away either, and i wish i had soemthing more positive and a solution, but this is my 3rd pregnancy and still haven't found anything to help.
Congratulations.

When I was pregnant I would be standing up washing dishes or cooking and I would get real dizzy and have to sit down. My doctor told me that it was because the baby would lay on a nerve or something like that and it would stop blood going to my head. but he said for me just to sit down and try not to stand for a long period of time. Congratulations

Could be blood pressure. When she changes positions, she should do so slowly. Don't stand up suddenly.
Could be she's not eating often enough. Make sure she is having something to eat at least every 2 hours.

I am 28.5 weeks and I still feel dizzy sometimes. I have found that if I change my position like sitting to standing or vice versa and eat or drink a little something it subsides rather quicklly.

I delt with this a lot during pregnancy. It can happen thorugh out.
It can also have to do with sugar.
Have her tell her dr and make sure the sugar test they do is normal.
And make sure she is eating a balanced b/f. The dr told me to make sure i had somethign with some thing in it for b/f. Like orange juice and not just a donut or somthing.

Tell her when she stands up, do it slowly not fast. Doing is fast will make it worse because it gives you a head rush. Tell her not to bend down or bend over, take deep breaths, and try not to think of it as much. Drink lots of water.

i agree with one of the replies..
since the dizzines mostly caused by hypotensive attacks , what we call postural hypotension.
the lady should move from sitting or sleeping to the standing position in slow motion, take enough fluids...
and......
congrats ;)
