I don't believe the media DOES affect teens as much as other influences do. Such as:
The fact that most kids no longer have both parents.
The fact that if kids DO have both parents, they're both so busy working, they don't have "time" to teach their kids the difference between right and wrong.
The fact that most kids (unless they're fortunate enough to receive instruction at home) have NO sense of what is moral, and what is not.
The fact that school shootings are glorified.
The fact that music glorifies crime, especially many rap and hip-hop songs.
The fact that movies glorify violence.
If the power of suggestion (in entertainment) is neutralized by instruction of moral behavior (whether at home, at school, or both) teens are less likely to commit any crime.
This is my opinion on it, anyway. I could be wrong.

It doesn't. A teen's mindset affects them, not wrestling, not video games, not music (rock, rap, none of that), not movies, but a teens psychological makeup. Media may be a benefactor, but the bigger one, the one of concern should be peers and parents. Anybody can turn off the radio or turn off the tv, so why not focus on what can't?

The teens aren't pinning it on the media, it's the parents who aren't doing their job.
Parents nowadays outsource their responsibilities to the schools and television. It's no wonder kids are getting screwed up.

I know that teens use the media for excuses of crime they commit but that's not so because your as stupids as you want to be and it's no one Else's fault but your own and no one has to make any one do anything not unless they want to do it....

It's not all the media's fault. When you can buy a gun easier the a pack of smokes, you need to look at the community and family also.

The media portrays existence with unreasonable and impossible expectancies of popularity, wealth, and popularity, inflicting melancholy and contributing to suicidal ideation.
