No, I don't think that was the case. Parcells just burned himself out. T.O. didn't help matters with his side show. That plus the fact that Jerry Jones would not allow Parcells to take on some of the general managers duties which included picking his own players. Jones always controlled that part of the business. Jones in not a football guy and that is why the Cowboys have not been able to win like before. That's also the reason Jimmy Johnson left after winning two SB's. Jones wouldn't keep out of his way. Too bad for the Cowboys because if left along Parcells would have taken the Cowboys to another SB.

I think that was the straw that broke the camels back, that and having to deal with Jerry Jones all year long, and I hate to even mention his name but TO.
Sorry to have to even mention his name,I know it pains you as a Cowboy fan to have this guy on your team.
I think that Parcells was a little premature in benching Bledsoe,at least Bledsoe was more experienced. Mike Shanahan also benched Plummer in favor of Cutler, when the Broncos were 7-2 ,and then they missed the playoffs.
Lovie stuck with Grossman, and look what happened, they are in the Super Bowl.
So I guess Parcells and Shanahan are on the outside looking in,and the guy that stuck by his convictions made it into the Super Bowl(even with Grossman).
Changing the kicker in mid season was not really a smart thing to do either.
Parcells was pulling at straws,he was acting like a desperate man towards the end of the season, trying to do anything to change the Cowboy's season around.
Actually the Cowyboy's were doing really well with Bledsoe I thought, yeah Bledsoe had some interceptions at bad times, and Romo was chomping at the bit to get into the game, but obviously Romo was not ready to lead the Cowboys last season.
I think that if Parcells would have changed his play calling a little ,with more emphasis on running the ball to set up the pass, instead of relying on the passing game, the Cowboys would have done better.
They seemed like they were getting a rythym going early on in the season, then the TO factor(sorry I mentioned him again),the kicking game, special teams mis cues, and bad interceptions and fumbles at crucial times, sealed the Cowboy's fate last year.
Jerry Jones was too interfering for Parcells, and Parcells couldn't breathe with Jerry down his neck every minute, not the type of atmosphere Bill Parcells felt comforatable in.
That's the way i see it,speaking from the viewpoint of a football fan,not a homer for any team. (Go Buffalo Bills).

I don't think it forced him out but if they had of won that game i think he would of stayed to see what they could do next year. that was just another disappointment on top of the others. Too many reasons to not stay. Owens, Bledsoe, playoff disappointment, etc. I'm a Cowboy's fan as well and i think this might be a blessing, Parcells didn't have the fire in him that he had when he was younger. I just hope they don't get a pupet for Jerry Jones like they did after Jimmie. We need an experienced coach with some balls to get us over the top.
T.O. had a lot of touch down catches and was playing with a broken hand for the last half of the season. Without T.O. Terry Glenn doesn't get the single coverage to get as open as he did. T.O. may be a distraction but I hope he's our distraction next year again.

Romo's bobbled snap was the last of several issues that made Parsells quit. TO's issues were obviously a huge negative. No success in the playoffs and basically a crash in the home stretch of the season all helped him make up his mind. Coupled with his age and experience, he decided it wasn't worth it any more. The best thing the Cowboys could do at this point is find a new home for TO so that they can get back to football instead of theatrics.

No. This was Bill Parcells own decesion to retire from coaching football & Tony Romo was not a factor in this.

I think Bill retired because he is tired of dealing with players like Terrel Owens. Bill is used to having discipline & hard workers around him, and lately, that is not the case. Some of these players dont work hard during camp, or practice, talk alot of smack, and dont perform the way they are paid to perform. I dont think Romo has anything to do with it. Sure he made a mistake in a costly game, but Bill could have helped him learn from his mistakes. Bill probably is tired of this, and said to hell with it, im done! I think Dallas lost a great coach, it should have been T.O to go, and not Bill!

No, not Romo. Romo was actually Parcells saving grace this last year.
While I don't think it was any one thing that pushed Parcells away, I'd be willing to bet TO was a big chunk of it.

I think TO's disrespect compounded with TO's inability to make simple catches probably hastened Parcells's exit.
Parcells didn't want to put up with TO's public disrespect any longer.
It had nothing to do with Romo.

this is as probably because of the fact the Eagles going a large winning streak and making the playoffs, beating Dallas interior the NFC championship & winning the SB whilst Andy Reid lights it up together with his youngsters on the sideline.
