For work: Definitely MULTIPLE pairs of black dress pants! Also solid sweaters, my chunky loafer heel shoes, and button-down dress shirts.
Outside of work: My dark-wash Old Navy stretch jeans and cute vintage-looking T-Shirts, silver hoop earrings and another pair of (lower-heeled) chunky platform loafers that are a little more casual.
For my "feeling fat days" (!!!): Black track suit I got at NY&Co and some white tennis shoes.
Special occaisions: The little black dress and a pair of sexy black platform heels.
Bags that go with anything...black Hobo International tote or my giant Coach black/white signature messenger bag.

It has to be the basic of any wardrobe , underwear, shirts, tops and trousers along with a nice heeled boot or shoe.

Shoes, bags and accessories are a must. You can liven up any plain outfit with these.
I also always make sure I have a decent pair of 'going out' jeans, thin jumpers / tank tops / t-shirts etc. that you can layer up and some nice pants and going out tops, ie. boob tubes etc. You can mix and match most of these.

firstly shoes, in all varieties high/low/boots/sexy/casual
then a big belt
then underwear, followed by jeans, and a good old LBD
then tshirts/work clothes/vest tops/skirts/jumpers
then accessories/handbags
above are the staples as long as you have them you can then mix them with whatever happens to be in the shops at the min!

Shoes. . . I have lots of clothes, but if I dont have the right show I wont wear it. I have clothes with tags on them because I havent gotten the right shoe to go with it.

Shoes would be top of the list, then underwear, something to go on my top half, something to go on my bottom half. That's it - top, bottoms, undies, feet and perhaps coat... accessories too - belts, bags, jewellery etc.
