I really need help. This Valentines Day will be a first for me and my husband and I have NO CLUE what to do for him or get him. Any suggestions? He is the romantic, sweet type and very affectionate.

Be like my wife and get him nothing.

He will shower you with stuff and you still won't appreciate it.

Ah my sweet wonderful wife.....

Perhaps this is not so good, but try assembling different photographs of the two of you into an album centering on a theme, of course a romantic theme. If he is as you say, the romantic type, sweet, and very affectionate (is he French too?)
then this he will appreciate. Especially if you can get some new photos made up he has not as yet seen. It would surprise him, wouldn't it?

Other than that, I got nothin'.

Remember K.I.S.S. Keep it simple stupid! I don't mean that in a mean way. But listen. The Pressure is on the man to do the right thing. Believe me. If I get a card and candy I will be happy, and so will He. BUT, That better come with the thought that WE are going to go out. A good man knows that this is his one time to make up for all of the bad days and romantic less evenings that he has gone out of his way to provide you with! I am pretty romantic, but even I can fall short sometimes! I try to make reservations for Nice dinner somewhere. Flowers are a must. Candy is a must! ( unless she is on a diet!) A Sloppy Romantic card is a must. Send them to her at work. But listen... Talk about it. This is really His Day to shine! If he loves you , Then EXPECT The Works! Just let him know that it is an important Day for You, and that If all goes well....BOTH of You will have a great time!

Play it by ear.. Romance wise.
Other than that, I would say make a nice dinner, something you both will enjoy. Crack open a nice bottle of wine, light some candles, put on some really nice music.. and enjoy your evening.
As far as gift ideas, a really nice card is a good start, something that says exactly how you feel. Then maybe something like some great smelling Cologne...
You might also think about renting a good romantic comedy, for after dinner.

Why in the world do you have no clue? How hard could it be? A nice dinner, dressed up in a really nice dress, wine, nice music, maybe later a massage - there are just tons and tons of things - it doesn't have to be unique or unusual - have fun, don't stress the fun out of it.

Tie him up, blindfold him and then do all those sweet, romantic and affectionate things he loves. It will definately blow his mind.

Try getting a gift certificate for Victoria's secret and you can give that to him and have a great time shopping together for something you both can enjoy.

A book of coupons, that you make him would be really sweet, and doesn't have to be expensive. One could be back massage, a night out for dinner, etc.....some could be kind of sexy as well....hint hint

answer the door naked with a can of whipped cream. He'll be plenty happy! I promise he'll have his heart on for valentines day.
