I've noticed that Obama has become very popular in a realtively short time after he became Sen. Many Americans, including myself would like to see him be the next US President.

But when I saw the poll conducted by the Opinion Research Corporation, I saw that Hillary Clinton would be the candidate that the majority of Democrats would likely to support.

My questions are-

1. Would you like to Obama to be Hillary's running mate for Vice Pres?

2. Or, should Obama try to campaign for Pres? Who knows, in two years, he might have the majority od Democrats wanting to vote for him.

wizzards_...- I happened to live in Jakarta for 16 years.

Don't believe in the media too much. The Muslims here are moderate Muslims. Their country has been terrorized by bomb attacks, every year since 2000. I don't think tey would be crazy enough to support those radical islamic groups.

There are only a handful of radical followers here, and the Indonesian gov. makes sure that they don't cause trouble in the country.

Clinton should be on the ticket for President and while Obama would be appealing Vice Presidents have a difficult time being elected Preident. Is inexperience in such a perilous time scares me. he has much potential but has to learn "to dance with the wolves or be eaten alive by them' and I mean how to manipulate and work with Congress and the Senate.

The strongest option for democrats would probably be a Clinton-Obama ticket. There is practically no chance for an Obama-Clinton ticket, because if Obama wins the nomination, McCain will win the general election, and Hillary knows that.... which is why she is fighting so hard to win this nomination. If she looses now, all the democrats will loose in November.

Oh heck no...sorry. After CNN exposed Hillary Clinton as spreading the rumor that Obama was a Muslim and attended a Muslim school as a child in Jakarta, Indonesia...absolutely not.

Obama is highly qualified for the position and should run with John Edwards, whom I campaigned for in the last election, and know very well. They're both extremely intelligent men and have a ton of integrity. Gee, won't THAT be refreshing !

If you jump into the race too soon you are more likely to blow up before the primaries get going. Remember Howard Dean? Remember Perot?

I do not see Obama, Clinton, or even Webb winning the nomination from the Democratic party

I truly believe that Hilary will be the next president - a milestone as the first female president. Not only would she do a MUCH better job than Bush, but it would be a nice change, and the nation as a whole is ready for a big change. I think they'll vote her in.

And yes, Barack has gained a lot of popularity over the months since being elected senator, but I think in the long run he'll lack the overall support of the nation when going against Clinton... so, I think an awesome combo would be Clinton as pres, and Obama as VP.

Its all media hype-- dont you get. How interesting of a story that a black man and woman could be president and vice president.

Dont get me wrong, I would vote for a woman or black president. But not that those two. Someone like Guliani is going to get really hot and blow away any democrat that runs. And by the way, I am a swing vote, not a die hard republican.

The problem with Obama for many people is that he doesn't have enough experience. So if he was vice president first, I think more people would be willing to vote for him as president next time around.

Even Clinton at his worse is still better than Bush at his best. At least Bill didnt hide behind a war to divert attention from his problems.
