I need to find information on those most directly involved in the war such as soldiers, protest groups, military leaders and other civilians that directly impact military actions.

WOW!!! A report? You would need to do a 100 doctoral dissertations to begin to do justice to this subject which includes thousands of years of history, hundreds of modern people, scores of special interests groups, many countries and the belief systems of three major and a handful of minor religions. I suggest you narrow your scope to perhaps, "Modern political leaders of Lebanon ( Syria or Israel or some other country), "The role of the Mossad in Israeli conflicts", or "Who are the Saudis". Then if you compile information from a dozen of the hundreds of available sources you may do justice to that one subject.
