i have only just switched to i-tunes from winamp. as i believe it to be more user friendly. but am getting frustrated with how long it takes to load up on my otherwise quite fast toshiba satellite a30. do i just put up with it or is there some thing i can do about it?

itunes will definitely slow down your computer. note: it's a much bigger application to run than winamp is.
also if you play a song to open it that will be considerably slower than just opening the app and then choosing a song.

I agree you need more memory and try not running too many applications at a time because these can eat up memory. Also if you have used up your hard drive space this can also effect the performance of your computer and applications, itunes needs a certain amount of memory from the Hard drive to run efficiently

first it depends of what kind of computer you got, i also believe you need more memory
one other thing is the size of your itunes library, it you got a lot of music, videos and all that things in there, then maybe that's the reason wwhy it takes too much time to load

well maybe its because your computer is SLOW because i have the same thing that you do but mine loads pretty fast now since i have speed dial up.....you should check that out!!!!
