I got an 80g Ipod for christmas and I am looking for some software to put my purchased dvds on it. I would like a website that is safe and where I won't get riped off. If you know of any I would real be thankful.

awe shoot... ok dvd ripping is a more sensitive subject then music, w/ dvd's you need to take off the security first, so go here and download the software http://www.dvd43.com
then go here and download this
http://www.filehippo.com/download_dvdshrink/
this'll be the ripping program, you have to have dvd43 open while ripping but off while burning ^_^ then go here (it'll convert the movie into a .vod file)
http://www.download.com/Ultra-Video-To-iPod-Converter/3000-2194_4-10574407.html?tag=lst-0-2
and download that (this is the encoder that changes .vod file to a .mpeg4 for you ipod ^_^
long process i know, but its worth it ^_^ and it's all free!!!!

I use iPod Media Studio. It costs like $29, I think it was. Google it and it will turn up. I tried several of the free ones and none of them worked. The one from Avex is supposed to be good, too, although I've never used that one.

if you are using a mac i would suggest downloading mac the ripper which copies dvd files to your computer then adding the files to a programme called i squint and this will correctly reduce the image size to fit the ipod.
