it's much cheaper if you go to a hotel than to rent a house. My aunt own a house in lapu2x it's fully furnished,everything you need is there already and she rented it 50,000php a month. Since you just stay there for three days just get a hotel or a pension house. I know a pension house there in cebu it just cost you 800-900php a night it's called fuente pension house which is a nice place and near at a mall. There are lots of foreigners go there. If you want to stay there just let me know so I can give you the tel number for you to make a reservation..

Best place is Intramuros and Rizal Park. Visit Casa Manila, San Agustine Church, Manila Cathedral, Fort Santiago. After which you can visit Rizal Park, Chinese Garden, Butterfly Pavilion, All of these locations are within walking distance. Bring water it is a pleasant stroll but you will need to rehydrate. Most Filipinos have not been in touch with their roots,and visiting these locations would put a sure smile and a best way to discover history and each other all in the same time.

even hotels are cheap. flight from manila to butuan or davao is only around $25. if airfares can be that cheap - imagine the hotels. LOL
Oh ya, you missed the sinulog festival - what a drag.

joy e......I've stayed at fuente pension house many times. It is good value and very friendly staff. I always stay there when I go to Cebu
