i visited europe for about six monthes 4 years ago. i went there, leaving a girlfriend of 3 years behind in the US (mind you a girlfriend that i thought was the one i was going to marry.) however, in europe i met this amazing, proclaimed straight, women and we hit it off. we danced together, kissed (a lot) but she was scared. i broke it off with my 3 year girlfriend because i had so many feelings for this other woman.

four years later, i am back in the US and have been in a different relationship for about 2 years...i am very happy but i can't get this girl off my mind...ever! i have gotten emails from her lately saying she wished more had happened when i was there, she wishes i were single so that she could fly here....etc. how do i get rid of thinking about her 90% of my day??????

How chances missed come back to haunt our thoughts.

What are the practicalities of it though? Use your head, pragmatically, not the "fuzzy, doe-eyed, through rose tinted spectacles" hindsight to guide you in your decision making.

Yes it would have been nice if... but it didn't happen and you've got someone you love (I presume - if it's lasted 2 years) beside you.

Wake up out of your revelry. E-mail her back and knock it on the head.

maybe you are feeling this way because you wish you could have done more, and didnt, and the fact that ya'll still communicate is making it harder.
