Of course you can divide 7 into 0. The answer is 0. You can divide anything into 0, except 0 itself. That's undefined.

Now, if you're asking why we can't divide 7 BY 0, well, that's another question. Dividing by 0 is undefined. The answer to that is given by looking at the inverse of the equation:

7/2 = 3.5 ==> 3.5 * 2 = 7

7/0 = ? ==> ? * 0 = 7

As you can see, nothing times 0 will give you a result of 7.

Imagine an equation 0x=7

The solution to this equation would lend you to think that x=7/0

However, we look at that equation and realize that there is really no number that fits. If I put 8 in there, for instance, I still get 0*8=7 or 0=7. This statement is false, so 8 does not work. The same occurs no matter what number I put in for x. So 7/0 is not defined.

You can't take something (7) and divide it into nothings (0).

You can divide 7 into 1 part and get 7
or into 2 parts and get 3.5
but not into no parts.

You get an undefined number. Or "Error" on your calculator.
