I have even moved from one port to the other and reinstalled it. The test I have ran on it come up to be ok.

Ok , first , you need to verify if the WINDOWS SOUND SERVICE is up and running , and verify that in the BIOS you dont have the sound option enable. first the windows sound service , enter control panel and open administrative tools , there select services , in the last look for the windows sound service and verify that is started. if not start it , then reboot , go into the bios and verify that the sound options is DISABLE , why , cause if you have an integrated sound card and just install a new pci sound card then it will conflict
