I feel like Taco Bell's meat could be better and I can't bring myself to eat it anymore. All I can think is dog food. But, I love them. I want to love them! Would anyone be willing to help fight for our right to taco? Fight for better quality products? Strike? Petition-signing? Letter-writing?

I don't want to not eat it anymore. I love it. And if there's anyone who feels the same then we can make Taco Bell even better!

Taco Bell uses grade D meat which is completely legal even if it may be completely disgusting. If they raise the grade of their meat then they will surely raise the prices. It's a tic for tac kind of thing, you know? If you want low prices, you're going to have to eat dog food. If you want quality food, you're going to have to pay more. Everywhere is like this. McDonald's uses soy burgers and those are anywhere from $1.00 - $4.00. Cheap product, cheap price. Sonic uses real meat and those range anywhere from $2.00-$6.00. Quality food, higher price.

---

If you insist on having Taco Bell, get a Taco Bell kit at one of your local grocery stores and it's almost as good as the real thing (and probably better for you too).

To get the texture and consistancy of the Taco Bell meat you're going to need to cook it differently than the directions say. Instead of browning it in a skillet, get a deep pan, pour 1/2 cup of water in the pan for every lb. of meat, and then boil the meat making sure to chop it with a spatula as you go. By boiling it, you get the kind of meat that packs together and doesn't crumble everywhere (JUST LIKE TACO BELL). Of course drain it, put seasonings in, so on and so forth.

Good luck.

Well... the way I see it, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I mean, sure the meat is grade D, but I've been eating it for years and had no issues, other than the occational stomach ache from eating too much. I think the lower grade meat is part of their signature flavor, changing would completely change Taco Bell. I personally don't find that fact too difficult to ignore as I'm munching down my Grilled Stuffed Burrito or Cheesy Gordita Crunch (smunchy!).

But... if there's going to be a revolution involving Taco Bell... I definitely want to be a part of it. Sign me up!

... and I think we should include in our demands that they make available in grocery stores bottles of their Fire sauce (or crack-sauce, as I call it).

Dammit... now I'm hungry.

Taco Bell is great but their beef could be better at times. I would go with letterwritting. As of December 8, 2006, the company is in the middle of an ongoing investigation by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration due to E. coli food poisoning in various stores. The franchise has stated its opinion that green onions, also known as scallions, are the source of the problem. Taco Bell disposed of all its green onions until further notice. An external review later came to the conclusion that shredded lettuce is the likely source of the problem to show how bad there beef and vegetables are taken care of.
